AI firm Anthropic announced plans to invest US$50 billion in building new data centers across the United States, reinforcing its commitment to expanding the country’s artificial intelligence infrastructure.

The company behind the Claude AI models will develop the facilities with infrastructure partner Fluidstack, starting in Texas and New York. Additional sites are expected to follow as part of a multi-year rollout.

Anthropic expects the project to create about 800 permanent jobs and 2,400 construction roles as the centers come online through 2026. The investment aligns with the Trump administration’s AI Action Plan, which aims to cement U.S. leadership in artificial intelligence and bolster domestic infrastructure.

Backed by Alphabet and Amazon, Anthropic was valued at $183 billion in September and now serves more than 300,000 enterprise customers. The new data centers will be tailored to run large-scale models like Claude, supporting growing demand for AI services across industries while strengthening U.S.-based technology capacity.
