LG Electronics is running a beta test of its crypto wallet for developers, and plans to launch it before the end of year, local news outlet News1 reported Wednesday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

The digital wallet, called Wallypto, will initially support non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and other digital assets built on the Hedera Hashgraph blockchain, but is expected to include other blockchain networks after launch, according to the report.

LG Electronics has been actively incorporating blockchain technology into its products, especially in its latest TV models. Earlier this year, the company unveiled televisions equipped with NFT functions that would allow TV owners to transact and manage NFTs through the device. The company did not confirm whether it will load Wallypto onto its existing product lines, but appears to be open to the idea.

“Blockchain is one of our new businesses that we will continue to pursue,” said an LG representative. “We have not decided on the exact direction of the usage of the Wallypto app, but we are preparing for a new market that is opening up.”
