Upbit Operator Dunamu Posts Strong Profit Surge in Q3
Dunamu, operator of the Upbit crypto exchange, reported a sharp rise in earnings for the third quarter, delivering KRW 239 billion in net income. The result represents a more than threefold increase from the same period last year, according to official filings.
Revenue climbed to $266 million, up 35% from the previous quarter. Operating profit reached $162 million, marking a 54% rise. Net income grew 145% from the previous quarter as trading activity gained momentum across digital asset markets.
The company says improved sentiment came from global market recovery and a wave of supportive regulatory actions in the United States. Measures such as the Genius Act, the Clarity Act and the Anti CBDC Bill were seen as stabilizing influences that helped bring more institutional activity back into the market.
Naver Financial is preparing to acquire Dunamu through a share swap that would make the exchange operator a subsidiary. Final board approvals are expected soon.
